British Success Scam
68Britains Got Success Scam
I have been on maternity leave for nearly a year, and desperate not to go back to full time work, I searched the internet for a business that I could do from home. I have read many articles on how things like affiliate marketing, adsense, niche marketing, website building ect works. I also know that for any of these to work in my favour I would need a decent flow of traffic.
After days of searching, I came across an Ideal business (or so I thought) and I read the sales page over and over again. I was convinced that I could make it work. It was called "British Success!" I could do with some of that! I had learnt enough to know how to recieve a good amount of traffic so I thought there is no way I could go wrong with this!
It promised 4 easy steps to get me going:
1 Download the package.
2 Follow the step by step guide.
3 Create your blog with one click.
4 Done! Start recieving payments.
What could be more simpler? It was also going to teach me secrets that the marketing industry fail to tell everyone! I really believed that i was getting a good deal. It was a one time payment, no more unexpected future bills to pay. Great!
At £37, it does not seem much, but when you are a single parent bringing up two kids alone, every penny counts. I ordered this business package, excited as I did so. Surely I live in Britain, I'm British and it was going to be legal!
As soon as I had finished paying through PayPal, (who say that as a buyer we are protected) I was still excited as I was forwarded a downloadable link. In less then 2 mins I was done, here was my oh so great business package that was suppose to get me up there earning big money!
Want to know what it was?
Not a business package as promised, It was not something I could just plug in and leave to work for itself! 4 easy steps? Business Package? Nope, nothing of the sort, it was a 68 page PDF file. Full of information that is so readily available for free for anyone wanting to start a good enough blog. There is no easy 4 step by step set up as promised!
For you to succeed with their business package this is what they recomend as a step by step guide:
1 Buy a domain, they suggest a company.
2 Set yourself up with a hosting company, one that runs with wordpress. They also suggest you have a private server rather then a public one as your work may get deleted without your permission as you are not allowed to monetize it.
3 Make sure you set up your name servers correctly and your almost done and your ready to go live!
4 Next you need Wordpress and boy if you havent got this then they tell you to take a deep breath! Why not disclose this before at steps 1, 2 or 3? Why wait until now? Once Wordpress is installed, you start to write on your blog. They suggest you choose a niche, post a minimum of 10 posts and also tell you to hire someone if you are not good at writing! Once done, add your plug ins, and then submit to the free directories. Then join the affiliate programs and choose what to sell once accepted.
So all this is British Success? More so much b.s if you ask me. British Scam is what I mean seriously! What a rip off! I complained to them as this so called package that they promised me is nothing more then an information file of which all the contents are readily and freely available on the internet, I was not willing to pay for an item that was not as described.
I did not hear nothing back from them and doubt very much that I will ever. However I did give them the opportunity to answer within a suitable timeframe failing that I would report them to Trading Standards, Office of Fair Trading and also to the HM Customs for not reporting VAT and Income as well as Paypal for endorsing such ridiculous businesses to trade. I also told them that I will give away their PDF file for free and asked them to challenge me in any courts of Britain if their business ethics are as legal as they claim it to be. No reply.
I believe that some of the above mentioned may have tried to contact them, as they have since changed their name to "Britains Got Success." If anyone is doing business with someone listed at Paypal as "Infomedia" then please be aware that you will be paying for rubbish!
I know that some people reading this may think why is she bothering to take this to the extreme and just leave it be? Why should I? I do not believe that anyone should be ripped off. Is life not unfair as it is with us paying ridiculous amounts of taxes and so forth without the likes of "British Success" or "Britain's Got Success" taking the mick?
Anyone who has turned to the internet to start something from home has done so without the thought of being ripped off, because they are in need of extra income, and because they want the best for their families. I do not want other people to pay £37 for a measly info pack, email me and i will forward it to you for free!
I am always proud to be a part of Britain but it disgusts me that there are some amongst us that are nothing more then scammers or scums! My trust in the British Entrepeneur now fails to exist.

Your welcome Matt.
I understand your frustration. The Ads can be quite mis-leading. There are lots of things you could do from home to start making money though. I looked up your profile but there's no info there - otherwise I could have recommended a few things to you. Anyway, hope Hubpages works for you.
Sorry to hear that you got ripped off, and thanks for posting your experiences.

What's your background Zaina? What were you doing before you had a baby? what are you good at? E.g Do you speak another language? You could translate from home. Are you a good typist? You could receive work at home to type. If you have a lot of friends and neighbours, you could consider AVON.
Wellsparks are looking for some Freelance writers (wellsparks.co.uk) and also advertised an Admin job today. Its data entry, most of the time you can work at home provided you have a computer and internet access. The only clause on this one is they need you to be in the office just one day a week. The rest of the time, you can work from home. If you are interested: send CV to talent@wellspark.co.uk. They are very flexible people.
Thanks for the warning. I got a pm over at the Warrior Forum and I nearly got drawn in to this. I think it might have been the British aspect of it that made it slightly unusual and therefore lowered my guard somewhat.
Anyway - sorry you got scammed and thanks again for the warning.
